“Then their numbers decreased, and they were humbled by oppression, calamity and sorrow; he who pours contempt on nobles made them wander in a trackless waste. But he lifted the needy out of their affliction and increased their families like flocks. The upright see and rejoice, but all the wicked shut their mouths. Let the one who is wise heed these things and ponder the loving deeds of the Lord.” Psalm 107:39-43
There is a command in the last verse of this psalm for those who are wise. It tells us to heed what is being said and to ponder the loving deeds of the Lord.
That word ponder gives us the roadmap for this. It is not a once and done thought process. Rather it is thinking over carefully what the Lord is doing. It is spending time considering what we see in front of us that tells us He is at work, right now. It is going back through the Word of God and seeing how He has worked in the past to understand how He is working now and will work in the future.
Ponder the loving deeds of the Lord. When we take the time to do that it brings us to a place of trust and confidence that no matter what we see around us, He’s got this!
I continue to thank You, Lord, for all you have done, are doing, and will continue to do.
