When it’s all said and done, what’s going to last? Will our houses?
Hmmm, 200 years from now most of our homes will be a pile of rubble.
What about our cars? Most of them won’t make it to a hundred years and some won’t even make it to twenty.
What about our businesses? Maybe a few will be around for a few centuries, but many businesses get replaced by new technology, new ways of doing things.
What will last?
These next few verses give us a clue. “Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us, for as many years as we have seen trouble. May your deeds be shown to your servants, your splendor to their children. May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us—yes, establish the work of our hands.” Psalm 90:15-17
What will last? The work that God establishes. Houses, cars, businesses, even pain and trouble are fleeting, but anything that is done for Christ is eternal.
Dear Jesus, please help me to do those things that will last. Help me to have my eyes focused on eternity.
