What is valuable to you? A treasured heirloom? Your mother’s ruby ring? A vintage car that is polished, swept, dusted only to be put under a tarp to visit another day. Is it your home, bank account, stocks, travel?
This proverb is quite simple with the information as to what we should pursue in our lives
“Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or turn away from them. Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you. The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding. Cherish her, and she will exalt you; embrace her, and she will honor you. She will give you a garland to grace your head and present you with a glorious crown.” Proverbs 4:5-9
So, there we have it. Even if it costs all we have, we are to go after wisdom. What is wisdom?
It doesn’t mean straight A’s on your report card or knowing all of the answers to a test. Wisdom is way beyond. It is seeing life from God’s perspective and living it out.
So where do we find it?
Reading, studying, memorizing God’s Word.
Pretty simple isn’t it?
Know the Lord and know His Word. Then you will have wisdom.
Please help me, Lord, to have a desire to be faithful in studying your Word. I know it is life changing.
