Uncertainties and Certainties

“Israel, put your hope in the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailing love and with him is full redemption. He himself will redeem Israel from all their sins.” Psalm 130:7-8

The call in this psalm is to Israel, but it is also to us. Put our hope in the Lord. One of the things we have blatantly seen with the COVID pandemic is that much in our world is uncertain. Day to day things seem to change, protocols differ, the rules shift. Getting the rug pulled makes it hard to stand.

However, there are still certainties.

The rising and setting sun are still reliable.

The seasons, God said we would always have them. (Genesis 8:22)

Jesus told us that God’s Word would never pass away.

And in this psalm, we read that God’s love is unfailing and with Him is full redemption. That is one of the most certain of certainties. We can take God’s redemption, His full and complete salvation, to heart and never falter in that again. When we say yes to Him our salvation is settled. That rug will never get pulled out from under us. It is signed, sealed, and always delivered.

God thank You for redemption, complete in You.
