When the coronavirus pandemic reached our country and everything seemed to change overnight, fear, anxiety, panic became our companions. Would there be food? Would there be enough toilet paper? Was everyone going to get sick? What would happen to our children? Our grandchildren? How long would we shelter in place? A million questions raced through our minds. The news was filled with awful reports and grim details of a sweeping virus across our country. Where could we find peace?
In today’s Psalm, we see that the psalmist knew the answer for our troubling thoughts.
“Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble. I wait for your salvation, Lord, and I follow your commands. I obey your statutes, for I love them greatly. I obey your precepts and your statutes, for all my ways are known to you.” Psalm 119:165-168
I found this to be so true. Almost every day I listened to books from the Bible. I found so much comfort and peace in the words of the Revelation because over and over we see that God is always and forever on the throne and He is in charge.
I have walked through the book of Luke and Jesus has been right there with me. I have listened to Genesis and Exodus and every book gives me great peace and rest and comfort, because in all the circumstances and trials of life, God is God and He rules and reigns.
Lord, thank You for your beautiful Word. Thank You for its instruction. Thank You for its peace.
