Today, let’s go on a treasure hunt.
After all, treasure is worth seeking. Of course, many times when we think treasure, we think gold. At the writing of this, gold is valued at about $2000.00 an ounce. That’s a lot of money. Now let’s say that what we’re searching for is thousands of gold coins. If each coin weighed one ounce, the value would be hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Yes, that treasure would be worth quite a bit of money, certainly worth looking for, and yet…“The law from your mouth is more precious to me than thousands of pieces of silver and gold.” Psalm 119:72
This verse says God’s law is worth more, more than gold, more than silver. God’s Word is of such a high value that we cannot calculate it. His Word leads us to know Him and tells us how we can have eternal life. That is beyond the amount of any riches. It is precious, more precious than any monetary amount.
Do we love His Word?
Do we treasure it as we would silver or gold?
Do we want to lock it up, safe and secure in our hearts?
Lord, help me to see Your Word as far more valuable than silver, gold, or anything else.
