The Word Became Flesh

David wanted to be close to God. God wanted to be close to David.

Why?

Because the Lord loved him.

But here’s the good news: He also loves us just that much. We can come to Him, anytime day or night and He is waiting for us.

Because of His great love for David, He gave him a promise.

“The Lord swore an oath to David, a sure oath he will not revoke: ‘One of your own descendants I will place on your throne. If your sons keep my covenant and the statutes I teach them, then their sons will sit on your throne for ever and ever.’ For the Lord has chosen Zion, he has desired it for his dwelling, saying, ‘This is my resting place for ever and ever; here I will sit enthroned, for I have desired it. I will bless her with abundant provisions; her poor I will satisfy with food. I will clothe her priests with salvation, and her faithful people will ever sing for joy. Here I will make a horn grow for David and set up a lamp for my anointed one. I will clothe his enemies with shame, but his head will be adorned with a radiant crown.’” Psalm 132:11-18

Because He loves us so much, He gives us a promise, “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14

His promise to us is that He is here, waiting for us to come to Him.

How I thank You that You came to dwell with us. You are always right here. When I pray, You come near.
