“You answer us with awesome and righteous deeds, God our Savior, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas, who formed the mountains by your power, having armed yourself with strength, who stilled the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, and the turmoil of the nations. The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders; where morning dawns, where evening fades, you call forth songs of joy.” Psalm 65:5-8
As I am writing this a hurricane is bearing down on our coast. It has brought devastation and loss of life to many regions in the last few days. It is big. It is really big...and yet...
These verses assure us that He has the power to still the roaring of the seas, the roaring of the waves, the turmoil of the nations. So, here’s the big question: If God is able to stop it, then why doesn’t He?
The answer is very simple. It might be so simple that many minds choose to reject it but nevertheless, it’s true. Here’s the answer: He is God.
That’s it, plain and simple. God sees the end from the beginning and puts all of the pieces together in exactly the right place to make the final picture that He wants for our lives. Sometimes the pieces are dark and feel jagged and broken but when they blend with the others they create exactly the right image and it reflects Him.
Why do the storms rage? Be patient. One day we’ll see the final painting and we’ll stand back breathless at the beauty.
How I thank You, Lord, that You see it all and place all of the pieces together to form the lovely final product that You call my life.
