“The Lord is exalted over all the nations, his glory above the heavens. Who is like the Lord our God, the One who sits enthroned on high, who stoops down to look on the heavens and the earth?” Psalm 113:4-6
These verses tell us that the Lord looks on the heavens and the earth. God is looking at us. He sees us. He cares about us. He watches out for us. He goes before us and behind us.
In Genesis 16, we read the story of a young woman who was being mistreated. Her name was Hagar and she ran into the wilderness to escape. She had an encounter with God and called Him, Lahai Roi, the One who sees me.
She was running. She was in the wilderness. She had no standing, position, wealth, really nothing to her name and yet, she had an encounter with God. He met her in her darkest time. He saw her.
It doesn’t matter who we are, what we have, if we’re known, or no one even knows our name. He does. He is the God who sees us. He understands and He loves us.
He is the God who sees us.
How I thank You that no matter where I am or what I am going through, You see me.
