“The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread. They are always generous and lend freely; their children will be a blessing.”Psalm 37:23-26
I love this line, “I was young and now I am old” because that describes me. I used to be young and agile and able to get up from the couch much faster than I can now. But for me, I came to know Christ at the age of 14. It changed my life for eternity. Since that time, I have tried to follow what God has called me to do.
Have I done it perfectly?
But even with my failures and my stumbles, God has held my hand. He has walked along beside me and lifted me when I was about to fall. These verses have brought me much comfort through the years. I can look back over my life to when I was young up until now when I am old, and see God’s presence. He has never, ever forsaken me. He will not ever forsake you either.
If you are young, start now to follow Him. If you are old, it is not ever too late.
Lord, you uphold me by Your hand. How marvelous that is. I will trust that I am being led by you.
