“Lord, you have seen this; do not be silent. Do not be far from me, Lord. Awake, and rise to my defense! Contend for me, my God and Lord. Vindicate me in your righteousness, Lord my God; do not let them gloat over me. Do not let them think, ‘Aha, just what we wanted!’ or say, ‘We have swallowed him up.’”
The silence of God is something that most of us really struggle with. How can it be that I pray and it seems no answer comes? How can it be that my prayers seem to just hit the ceiling?
It is very difficult when God seems far away.
Do you see what David is doing? He’s praying.
Why? Because David knows that God is in the silence.
He knows that God is in the distance.
He knows that God is in the ceiling.
David knows that God is there, even if it seems He isn’t.
Thank You, that You recognize that sometimes I need the silence. You recognize that sometimes I need the answer right away. You know that sometimes I need to see You in the distance. Sometimes I need to see You in the moment. I’m so grateful that You know.
