Psalm 115 ends with a blessing for all who fear and trust the Lord.
“May the Lord cause you to flourish, both you and your children. May you be blessed by the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. The highest heavens belong to the Lord, but the earth he has given to mankind. It is not the dead who praise the Lord, those who go down to the place of silence; it is we who extol the Lord, both now and forevermore. Praise the Lord.” Psalm 115:14-18
Remember the story of Jacob and Esau. Jacob stole the blessing offered by Isaac that was supposed to go to the older son. It was a huge deal. It represented the ability to flourish and expand. It was so big that Esau was ready to kill Jacob for stealing it away from him. Have you ever wondered about how that might apply to you? It is a picture of God the Father pouring out that blessing on each of us. It is about flourishing and expanding. It is about our children and grandchildren. And here we see that God offers it. Go back and read those words again and instead of the word you insert your name and claim the blessing of the Lord.
Lord, today I claim this blessing offered with my name on it. Thank You. I know that my greatest blessing is that I can know You. I ask that all of my loved ones will also experience this greatest of blessings.
