This next passage from Psalms gives us a list of blessings.
Now who doesn’t want blessings?
Of course, we all do. Sometimes we may think that that’s how our lives should go with one great thing happening after another.
Truthfully, we all know that is not real life. Yet God does bless. We see that today, but there are some conditions.
“Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in obedience to him. You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours. Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table. Yes, this will be the blessing for the man who fears the Lord.” Psalm 128:1-4
Fear the Lord. Walk in obedience to Him.
Those are the criteria if we want to eat the fruit of our labor, have blessings and prosperity, have our spouses be fruitful and our children sprout up like olive shoots. But let’s keep in mind that the real true blessing is knowing and following and walking with the Lord.
Is it easy to always fear the Lord and walk in obedience?
I am so grateful for a Savior who did it perfectly and I can trust Him. I can follow Him.
Lord Jesus, Thank You for coming. You lived a perfect life. You walked in obedience. Help me to follow Your lead.
