Let’s face it; we are all a work in progress. There is not one of us who has arrived. We all fall short of where we need to be. Our standard for measuring is Jesus. He is the One we must strive to be like.
Because the world looks at us, and we must reflect the Lord so people can see Him.
We have the Bible and that is where we find truth. But lots of people never open its pages. They don’t know what it says. Our lives may be what another person examines to see if Jesus is real. That is why we must reflect Him.
So how does the world perceive us?
Do they see wisdom or folly, truth or lies, peace or fear, love or anger?
When we are examined by those around us, what do they see?
“The one who guards a fig tree will eat its fruit, and whoever protects their master will be honored. As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart. Death and Destruction are never satisfied, and neither are human eyes. The crucible for silver and the furnace for gold, but people are tested by their praise. Though you grind a fool in a mortar, grinding them like grain with a pestle, you will not remove their folly from them.” Proverbs 27:18-22
Jesus, we want the world to see You in our lives. We want people to desire to know You. Help us to live lives that lead our friends to You.
