“Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name. I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever. For great is your love toward me; you have delivered me from the depths, from the realm of the dead.”
What a beautiful request we see in these verses. The psalmist is asking the Lord to teach him.
I think the Lord loves that request. He wants us to know Him, understand His ways and then determine to follow them. The more we know about the Lord, the deeper we can love Him and the more faithful we can be in following Him.
And then psalmist asks for an undivided heart. I have to wonder what that looks like…to have a heart that is totally set on the Lord. What a wonderful prayer. Oh, to have a heart like that, that sees God and His plan and doesn’t deviate from that. I’m going to make that our prayer today.
Please, Lord Jesus, give us undivided hearts that we may fear Your name. Teach us, Lord. Thank You.
