I have to say that there is something absolutely breathtaking about a spectacular sunrise or sunset. Photos have caught a glimpse. Poems have spoken. Paintings have tried through brushstrokes on canvas but nothing has ever come close to the reality of the beauty and majesty that can come with the breaking dawn and the shades being drawn at night. It cannot adequately be captured.
God is the one responsible. He calls and the heavens obey.
“The Mighty One, God, the Lord, speaks and summons the earth from the rising of the sun to where it sets. From Zion, perfect in beauty, God shines forth. Our God comes and will not be silent; a fire devours before him, and around him a tempest rages. He summons the heavens above, and the earth, that he may judge his people: ‘Gather to me this consecrated people, who made a covenant with me by sacrifice.’ And the heavens proclaim his righteousness, for he is a God of justice.”
But inspite of the beauty of those events, they are not at the top of God’s call. People are.
He wants His people gathered to Him.
Do you listen to His voice? Do you hear when He speaks? He is not silent but we must listen.
Lord, please open my ears and my heart to hear Your call for me to gather with other believers in prayer.
