There are animals and people that strut around as if they are in charge. They believe they hold a royal position and it shows in their demeanor.

“There are three things that are stately in their stride, four that move with stately bearing: a lion, mighty among beasts, who retreats before nothing; a strutting rooster, a he-goat, and a king secure against revolt. If you play the fool and exalt yourself, or if you plan evil, clap your hand over your mouth! For as churning cream produces butter, and as twisting the nose produces blood, so stirring up anger produces strife.” Proverbs 30:29-33

Lions, roosters, goats, and kings can all give the impression that they are large and in charge. But Proverbs tells us that if we exalt ourselves we are playing the fool.

There is only one King and He is the King of Kings. If we are wise, we will give Him all honor and glory. We will follow Him.

Lord Jesus, You are the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. You are worthy of all praise. I choose to follow You.
