Still on the Throne

I will listen to what God the Lord says; he promises peace to his people, his faithful servants—but let them not turn to folly. Surely his salvation is near those who fear him, that his glory may dwell in our land. Love and faithfulness meet together; righteousness and peace kiss each other. Faithfulness springs forth from the earth, and righteousness looks down from heaven. The Lord will indeed give what is good, and our land will yield its harvest.  Righteousness goes before him and prepares the way for his steps.” Psalm 85:8-13

God promises peace to His people, to His faithful servants. That is a promise worth remembering. Peace is a commodity that the world longs for, but doesn’t always seem to find. We live in uncertain times. Things like the coronavirus, flu outbreaks, stock prices plunging, those things can strike fear in our hearts and we long for peace.

But our God is still on the throne. When we turn to Him and crawl up on His lap, He quiets us with His love, the way a mother does with her children. He is with us and with Him, there is nothing to fear.

Lord, thank You that in certain and uncertain times You are with me holding me safely in Your arms.
