“I rejoice in your promise like one who finds great spoil. I hate and detest falsehood but I love your law. Seven times a day I praise you for your righteous laws.” Psalm 119:162-164.
So, the question is, “Do I?” Do I praise God for His righteous laws seven times in a day?
The psalmist did. He took time every day to praise God and he did it over and over. When he got up, praise was on his lips. When he ate his meals, praise erupted from his heart. When he walked through his day and saw the beauty of the world, he couldn’t help but be filled with gratitude and awe and He told the Lord so. When he meditated on the Scripture, when he recounted God’s laws, it filled his mind and heart with adoration. When he laid his head on the pillow at night, the last words on his lips were thanksgiving and praise.
Seven times in a day, the writer of this psalm made sure he was giving praise and honor and worship and adoration and thanksgiving and gratitude to the One who deserves to hear it every second of every day.
The question is, “Do I give praise seven times in a day?”
Father, You so totally deserve my praise. May I remember to thank You over and over throughout my days.
