In our world today, it’s a little hard to decide who are the good guys and who are not. As a matter of justice, the lines have been blurred. Rioting is declared acceptable in one city, while in another, and from a different side of the aisle, it is considered anarchy. Language is so confusing because one day we can say something, the next day if we use those same words we are accused of using our language to subvert. Books that have been around for decades have been taken off the market. What used to be completely accepted as undeniable truth has now become opinion and people can change depending on their feelings for the day.
Honestly, it’s hard to keep up and some of it is utter foolishness.
“It is not good to be partial to the wicked and so deprive the innocent of justice. The lips of fools bring them strife, and their mouths invite a beating. The mouths of fools are their undoing, and their lips are a snare to their very lives. The words of a gossip are like choice morsels; they go down to the inmost parts.” Proverbs 18:5-8
There is one thing that is unchanging and it is absolute truth. And that is the Bible. Here’s the thing about truth: it doesn’t matter if you believe it or not. It’s still truth.
People can say that 2+2 is no longer 4, but it still is. People can deny Genesis and the way God created everything and everybody, but it doesn’t change that it is truth, because it is.
Rioting is rioting no matter what city it happens in. Words have meaning and we can’t arbitrarily decide what that is.
The Bible has stood; it is standing, and it will continue to stand.
No matter how people fight against it. It was true yesterday. It is true today. It will be true tomorrow. And it will be true when we stand before God someday.
We might want to make sure they know what it says.
Lord, I cherish Your Word. Help me to follow its truth.
