We are facing some frightening times. Every day our world is changing. But for right now, let’s set that aside and look at one of the beautiful pictures that Revelation gives us of Jesus Christ. It is the picture of Jesus as our bridegroom.
I want you to think for a moment about how much a waiting groom longs to see the face of his bride. He is anxiously anticipating her arrival. He only has eyes for her as he looks down the aisle for his first glimpse. The love he has for her is evident on his face.
The church is the bride of Christ. One of the things we need to remember is our Groom loves us with a love so intense that we cannot even imagine it. The picture of the bride and groom is just that, a picture. The reality is completely beyond our present understanding. What a beautiful event we have to look forward to.
He will do everything to protect and provide for us, even in uncertain times. He is here for us. We don’t have to be afraid.
“To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand and walks among the seven golden lampstands.” Revelation 2:1
He holds the seven stars in His right hand. Did you see this? He is so powerful that all of these churches are held in one hand. And I love that He is holding us.
No matter what the church faces, He is protecting us, providing for us, and above all, loving us.
Rejoice church, your Bridegroom is holding you in His hand.
