Just today, my husband sat in the barbershop. An elderly gentleman came in right after. The barber, Dave, and this gentleman were the only three in the shop. The man began to speak about an attempted arrest that took place right by his home a few days ago. There was gunfire and damage to property. By his own admission, the man declared he could have really been hurt or even killed. He had nothing to do with the problem but could have been hurt in the crossfire.
Dave saw it as an open door to ask him about eternity had there been a fatal shot. The man listened as Dave shared and then prayed to receive Christ.
When we go out, carrying the precious seed of the Gospel, we have a promise. There will be a harvest.
“Restore our fortunes, Lord, like streams in the Negev. Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them.” Psalm 126:4-6
Jesus, thank You that You have our schedules and our encounters on Your planbook. Help us to follow Your lead, taking the seed, in order to see a harvest.
