“I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles.”
Radiant…what does that look like? When I think of the term, my mind immediately goes to a sunset or a sunrise. The sky glows. The glow is sometimes red, orange, or purple. When I think of the term radiant regarding people, I think of the look on a mother’s face as she is gazing on her newborn child, or a bridegroom staring at his beautiful bride.
Radiant…when we look at Jesus, it is our how faces look. We radiate His likeness and His glory.
Our faces can glow with Jesus as our shame and sinfulness disappear. David goes on to describe himself in this section as…“This poor man.” If King David viewed himself as poor and lacking, how much more am I? Yet it says, “God saved him out of his troubles.” I can call on Jesus when I’m in trouble too. He hears and He saves.
Heavenly Father, help me to spend so much time with You, that I radiate Your glory.
