“Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. Who can proclaim the mighty acts of the Lord or fully declare his praise? Blessed are those who act justly, who always do what is right. Remember me, Lord, when you show favor to your people, come to my aid when you save them, that I may enjoy the prosperity of your chosen ones, that I may share in the joy of your nation and join your inheritance in giving praise.”
As believers, we are all called to serve the Lord, but in serving, we have lots of different gifts, abilities, callings. Some are pastors, called to shepherd the flock. Some are evangelists whose job it is to go and preach in various locales. God calls others to leave home, travel to distant countries, and begin new works. Then there are teachers, kids’ workers, people who run the sound, video, or live stream the services for others to hear. There are many ways to serve and I have listed just a few. But there are some things to which we are all called. One is prayer. We all have that high calling of calling on the Lord. And another is praise.
He is our very breath, without Him we wouldn’t be able to even draw our next breath. So, to use our breath to praise Him, is part of what we are to do.
He makes our hearts beat, our brains function, our arms and legs work. We are called to love Him with our hearts, souls, minds, and strength.
He is great, beyond our ability to comprehend. He has done awesome and marvelous things. God is our Creator, Sustainer, Redeemer, Friend, Savior, this list can go on infinitely.
We have the privilege of proclaiming His mighty acts and declaring His praise.
So today and every day, let’s lift our voices in the highest praise.
Father, I can only begin, but I will begin, to praise and worship You. You are worthy of all praise.
