“From you comes the theme of my praise in the great assembly; before those who fear you I will fulfill my vows. The poor will eat and be satisfied; those who seek the Lord will praise him— may your hearts live forever!” Psalm 22:25-26
“May your hearts live forever!”
What a beautiful prayer. And Jesus makes that possible. He died to pay for our sins, taking the punishment that should have come to us but instead He took our place. His innocent blood paid the price for sin for all time, for all the world. It is a free gift to us. We just need to accept that gift from Him.
When we do, eternal life begins. It is not just a “pie in the sky” decision that means that everything good and beautiful begins after we die. Our relationship begins the moment we trust Him and the Holy Spirit changes our hearts and life’s direction. What was old becomes new.
It is no wonder that the psalmist writes that those who seek the Lord will praise Him. It is the natural response to a supernatural event. The King of Kings and Lord of Lords has come to dwell within. We praise Him!
We praise You, Lord, because You have come to dwell with us.
