I wish I could say with the psalmist that my mouth is filled with God’s praise, declaring His splendor all day long. But I have to be honest, there are many times during the day that the words that come out of my mouth are not praise. They are exactly the opposite. They can be critical, or angry, or biting. They can be complaining, or hurtful, or even hateful.
I don’t want that but sometimes they are. It is my goal to be able to join the psalmist in this declaration that his mouth is filled with praise. How lovely it would be to be around someone like that. I’m praying that I will grow closer to it each day.
“For you have been my hope, Sovereign Lord, my confidence since my youth. From birth I have relied on you; you brought me forth from my mother’s womb. I will ever praise you. I have become a sign to many; you are my strong refuge. My mouth is filled with your praise, declaring your splendor all day long.”
Lord, I ask You to give me Your vision so I can see the world the way You do and then respond in praise because of it.
