Open Our Eyes

“The proverbs of Solomon son of David, king of Israel: for gaining wisdom and instruction; for understanding words of insight; for receiving instruction in prudent behavior, doing what is right and just and fair; for giving prudence to those who are simple, knowledge and discretion to the young—let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance—for understanding proverbs and parables, the sayings and riddles of the wise.” Proverbs 1:1-6

Wisdom, insight, prudence, knowledge, discretion, instruction, and understanding are qualities we all long for. We need these in our lives. How often have we come to the crossroads and not known the correct direction to take? How many times have we needed supernatural wisdom for a situation that seemed way too big for our finite minds? Part of the beauty of God’s Word is that it is filled with great wisdom, incredible knowledge, and magnificent insight. When we feast on the very Words that come from the heart of God, that wisdom becomes a part of us. When we chew on and meditate over, and ruminate again and again, the Word seeps into our very beings.

The proverbs are chocked full of the practical and replete with the supernatural. This is a journey that will take us to the heights. We’re glad that you are joining us as we study and pray through the Proverbs.

Father, as we begin this study, please open our eyes to see, our ears to hear, our minds to gain insight and our hearts to receive.
