Have you ever heard the phrase, “All roads lead to God” as a defense to believe anything? There are many people today who believe it completely.
It may shock you that I am one of them. Yes, I believe that all roads lead to God. It is true that all of us will one day stand before the Heavenly Father. Need proof?
Read today’s verses:
“Praise awaits you, our God, in Zion; to you our vows will be fulfilled. You who answer prayer, to you all people will come. When we were overwhelmed by sins, you forgave our transgressions. Blessed are those you choose and bring near to live in your courts! We are filled with the good things of your house, of your holy temple.” Psalm 65:1-4
Did you see the phrase, “...to you all people will come.” Yes, we will all one day stand before the Lord. But I cannot use it as a defense to claim all beliefs are equal. They are not.
Yes, we will all stand before God but we must add a few words to this phrase. It should read: “All roads lead to God...and judgment.”
Every one of us will someday have to make an accounting for the way we have lived and what we have believed.
I will stand before the Lord. I have made the decision to follow Jesus Christ. I have asked Him to wash away my sins and forgive me and come to live in my life. When I stand at that judgment seat, Jesus Christ Himself will stand with me, claiming that He took my sins on Himself at the cross. He will have already taken my judgment and I will stand forgiven.
Do all roads lead to God? Yes, they do. Do you want to stand there alone and face judgment or do you want Jesus to stand with you, declaring your innocence because you’ve been forgiven? The choice is yours.
Dear Jesus, thank You for dying on the cross for me. I accept Your death as payment for my sins and receive You as my Savior and Lord.
