There is a church listed in the book of Revelation chapter 3 that approaches their relationship with Jesus in a very half-hearted manner. They wanted to be comfortable. They wanted church to go their way. They wanted what they wanted, when they wanted it and didn’t really consult the Lord about it. It tells us that Jesus was knocking at the door of this church. You see, He was on the outside.
God hasn’t called us to be half-hearted. He wants us to be all in, sold out, ready to live out our Kingdom life much like an ox. We are called to be both a servant and a sacrifice.
The prayer in today’s verses is to wholeheartedly follow His Word.
“May those who fear you turn to me, those who understand your statutes. May I wholeheartedly follow your decrees, that I may not be put to shame.”
So, there it is. Follow God’s Word. Do what it says. Fall in love with Him because of it. It’s that simple.
I want to be Your follower. I want to be ready to do all that You ask me to do. I want to be ready to live out my life daily for You. But I also want to be ready to lay down my life for You if that’s the call.
