“I will sacrifice a freewill offering to you; I will praise your name, Lord, for it is good. You have delivered me from all my troubles, and my eyes have looked in triumph on my foes.” Psalm 54:6-7
This psalm began with a cry for help from enemies. The middle of the psalm was a declaration that God was the One who could help and sustain. The end of this is an affirmation of praise for the deliverance that God had brought.
We can come to God with our requests, rely on His hand to bring us through, then praise him.
It is a model for our prayers.
Today, we can cry out to Him with whatever is on our hearts.
We can then stand on His word, remembering that the promises of God are “yes and amen”.
And then we lift up our praise and our offerings to God for all that He has done.
Lord, I join with David is praising You for all You have done for me. Help me to always and forever rely on You and then bring You my offerings of gratitude.
