There is no text, no writing, no book of instruction that is as valuable as God’s Word. It tells us what we need to know in order to live successfully. It explains how to make life work. When we read it, study it, memorize it, we have the best information we could ever need.
Our choice has to be to learn it and obey it.
“My son, keep my words and store up my commands within you. Keep my commands and you will live; guard my teachings as the apple of your eye. Bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart. Say to wisdom, ‘You are my sister,’ and to insight, ‘You are my relative.’ They will keep you from the adulterous woman, from the wayward woman with her seductive words.” Proverbs 7:1-5
So how do I make it a part of my everyday life?
Set aside a time every day to read and study. We can memorize parts through repeating them or singing them. We can read, listen to, even watch the Bible and learn where certain passages are, so we can easily turn to them. We have tools at our fingertips such as our phones and computers to find commentary and information.
Never has the world been so equipped to know and understand the Word.
So, here’s the question: Do we?
Lord, please help me to spend time in Your Word and then apply it to my life. Your Word will bring life to me.
