In our last blog we looked at verses 2 and part of verse 3 of this amazing psalm. Today we want to look at the end of that section and draw our attention to a phrase. “…he refreshes my soul.” King James says, “He restoreth my soul.”
Our hearts, our minds, our emotions, our very souls are broken. Jeremiah says our hearts are deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. We live in a sinful world and we are active participants in the sickness of sin. We need someone to bring healing to our lives. We need someone to restore our souls.
Here’s some really good news. In fact, it’s the best news ever told. There is One who came to do that very thing. Jesus, our Savior, Healer, Redeemer, came and completed everything that had to be done in order for my soul to be fixed. He gave His life so I could have life and have my sin sickness paid for. He is Yahweh Rophe, the Lord, my Healer.
You are my healer, Lord. I can come to You with every sickness, every disease. But I can also come because my soul is sick, and I need You to restore it. Thank You for healing my sin sick soul.
