“For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his scared tent and set me high upon a rock.” Psalm 27:5
Here King David finds great solace in God placing him high upon a rock. Lately I have been reflecting on the mountain top experiences found in the Scripture.
When Noah’s ark finally landed on Mt. Ararat, there was rest from the rocking of the boat. When Abraham took Isaac up to Mt. Moriah in obedience to God, he saw first-hand the miracle of God’s grace. When Moses was watching his sheep sleep on Mt Sinai, he met God in a burning bush and discovered that God gives second chances. When Peter, James and John saw Jesus transfigured on the mountain top, they saw God’s glory.
Over and over God calls people to visit with Him high on the rocks.
Today, even if you are on level ground, He is calling you to the heights of the rocks.
He is waiting.
Lord with every step I take today I want to climb the mountains with You.
