Luke 8:19-21

The backstage pass, it means a person has unique access. It allows someone to travel where others can’t. The backstage pass boasts of a special relationship with the one who is at the fore-front.

Jesus taught, and whenever He did, people lined up to hear. Crowds followed Him. Hordes of people tried to get near. The huge number made it nearly impossible for anyone to get close to Him.

One day He was teaching and the place was filled. Lots of people were listening. And then Jesus’ family came. But there were so many people and His mother and brothers were outside. They couldn’t get in. Surely because they were related they would have the unique privilege of access to Jesus.

“Now Jesus’ mother and brothers came to see him, but they were not able to get near him because of the crowd. Someone told him, ‘Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to see you.’ He replied, ‘My mother and brothers are those who hear God’s word and put it into practice.’” Luke 8:19-21

And there it is, the special relationship that ushers us into the presence of the Lord. We hear the Good News; we receive the Lord; we live out God’s Word. It is our ultimate access to Almighty God.
