Luke 13:31-35

Luke

“At that time some Pharisees came to Jesus and said to him, ‘Leave this place and go somewhere else. Herod wants to kill you.’ He replied, ‘Go tell that fox, “I will keep on driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach my goal.” In any case, I must press on today and tomorrow and the next day—for surely no prophet can die outside Jerusalem! Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing. Look, your house is left to you desolate. I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’” Luke 13:31-35

In the verses today, Jesus told the Pharisees that He was on a mission and it would be completed no matter the opposition.

We were born to live our lives. He was born to give His life. He would travel to Jerusalem. It would be His death place. But it would also be His resurrection place.

The crowds would think they knew who He was, but they would miss it. He wanted to reach around the city and embrace it with a love so big that it not only embraced the City of David but also embraces us.

But they would miss Him.

Please don’t miss Him.

He wants to gather us like a hen gathers her chicks. He wants to put us under His love and protection.

He is just waiting for you.

Pray something like this: “Jesus, I am sorry for my sins. Please forgive me and come into my life. I accept You as my Lord and Savior. Thank you.”

If You have prayed that prayer, You are under His wings!
