“Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. If I say, ‘Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,’ even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.” Psalm 139:7-12
There are times when we call out to the Lord and it feel as if no One hears. There are times when it feels as if we are all alone. There are times the darkness seems too dark, but facing the day seems too uncertain. But our feelings do not change the truth.
God is with us. No matter where we go or what we have to endure, He is there. On the heights or in the depths, He is there. In the darkness or in the light, He is there.
This psalm asks the question, “Where can I go from your Spirit?”
The answer is that the place to flee from Him does not exist. Call out to Him. He’s listening.
We do call out to You, Lord, and ask for you to forgive us and heal our land.
