Praise permeates the last few verses of this psalm. It includes the harp, lyre, and voice. With several ways, this psalm praises the Lord. What would it do in our lives if that were the response, even in the dark times? Because when it is all said and done, when we have taken our last breath, the difficulties, challenges, hurts, and pain will all fade away and we will look into the glorious face of our Savior and be grateful for all He will have brought us through.
This psalmist didn’t wait for eternity to begin. He brought the praise immediately.
So should we.
“I will praise you with the harp for your faithfulness, my God; I will sing praise to you with the lyre, Holy One of Israel. My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you—I whom you have delivered. My tongue will tell of your righteous acts all day long, for those who wanted to harm me have been put to shame and confusion.” Psalm 71:22-24
I praise You, Jesus. You have walked me through joy and heartache. You are in charge of my life and allowing it all for Your grand purpose and plan. Thank You.
