It is evident as we study God’s Word that He loves Israel. He set them free from their slavery in Egypt and then walked with them and protected them against their enemies until they settled in the Promised Land. It is a picture of what He wants to do in our lives.
They were set free when they placed the blood of a lamb on the doorframe of their homes. They walked out of their houses under the blood of the lamb. They were set free.
When we come to Jesus and ask Him to forgive us, the blood that was shed covers our sin and washes it away. We are set free.
He protected them. He protects us.
He provided for them. He provides for us.
“He struck down the firstborn of Egypt, the firstborn of people and animals. He sent his signs and wonders into your midst, Egypt, against Pharaoh and all his servants. He struck down many nations and killed mighty kings—Sihon king of the Amorites, Og king of Bashan, and all the kings of Canaan—and he gave their land as an inheritance, an inheritance to his people Israel.” Psalm 135:8-12
Lord God, Thank You that You show us in Your Word how You set Israel free and how You want to do the same for us.
