“He makes Lebanon leap like a calf, Sirion like a young wild ox. The voice of the Lord strikes with flashes of lightning. The voice of the Lord shakes the desert; the Lord shakes the Desert of Kadesh. The voice of the Lord twists the oaks and strips the forests bare. And in his temple all cry, ‘Glory!’” Psalm 29:6-9
Glory is a very big word. It means renown, fame, honor and distinction. It is a word we use to declare praise and recognition.
It is a word that belongs to the Lord.
The earth knows it. The heavens declare it. If we don’t bring it, rocks will begin to shout it.
There is so much we do not understand about God’s glory. We have never even seen the beginning of what it means, even in the midst of the most beautiful, breathtaking, awe inspiring settings. It is just a hint.
One day we will join in the celebration of heaven and be in His presence and with all of heaven and earth we will cry, “Glory.”
What a day that will be!
We have so much to look forward to as we approach our heavenly home. Lord, one day we will be in Your presence and it will be beyond anything we ever thought or imagined. Thank You that we will then shout, “Glory!” And then we will understand it.
