Heads Down World

We are a “heads down” world today. Our phones, computers, IPADs seem to rule our lives. Our eyes are downward focused.

This psalm gives us a different perspective. Our eyes should be lifted to our Lord.

We do that through prayer, studying the Scripture, raising our hands in worship, looking into the faces of those we meet and sharing the Good News.

When we lift our eyes to Him, He takes care of all of our needs. What a blessing!

“I lift up my eyes to you, to you who sit enthroned in heaven. As the eyes of slaves look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a female slave look to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, till he shows us his mercy. Have mercy on us, Lord, have mercy on us, for we have endured no end of contempt. We have endured no end of ridicule from the arrogant, of contempt from the proud.” Psalm 123:1-4

Lord, no matter what we have to endure, we trust that You are there. We trust that You are taking care. We lift our eyes to You.
