New Year’s Day
A new day, a new year…it’s a time to start fresh. The old year is gone the new has begun. It’s great to be facing a whole new year packed full of possibilities.
But have you ever thought about a new life? Look back. Are there some things you wish you could wipe off your slate? Do you wonder what it would be like if you could start over? Would you like to be facing a new life packed full of possibilities?
For this first day of 2019, let me give you some really good news. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” 2 Corinthians 5:17
A new life can actually happen. It’s a matter of asking. All through December we’ve been looking at the miracle of Jesus’s birth. He came 2000 years ago. But the reality is as fresh as if His birth was January 1, 2019. Because He wants to come to YOU. The Savior of the world wants to be born in your heart. He wants to give you that new life. He alone can wipe your slate clean.
If there has never been a time in your life when you asked Jesus to be your Savior and Lord, you can begin this new year with a simple prayer that ushers you into a new life, a life that begins today and continues to eternity with the Lord.
Why don’t you pray with me?
I know I am a sinner. I look back over my life and there are things I wish I hadn’t done. There are other things I wish I would have done. My life needs to be changed. Please forgive me for my sin. Come into my heart right now. I accept You as my Savior and my Lord. Thank you for saving me and washing me clean. Help me to live for you.
In Your name, Jesus. Amen.
Happy New Year.
Happy New Life!
