Think for a moment about something the Lord has done for you. It can be big or it can be small. However, if we stop and consider His works, we can’t really discern what is big and what is little. Sometimes the insignificant starts a ball rolling that becomes very significant.
But there are events that are obviously major players on God’s timeline. Restoring the fortunes back to Israel was one of them. Their response is what we would expect.
“When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dreamed. Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, ‘The Lord has done great things for them.’ The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.” Psalm 126:1-3
Can you hear their songs of joy? Can you imagine the smiles, laughter, outbursts of jubilance?
It blessed them beyond measure, but the message also went out around the world. “The Lord has done great things.” He was given the credit. He was given praise.
That is the way we are to respond, also. We thank Him, declare that it has come from His hand, and see the Word go out. It is one of the ways people can see that they want to follow Him.
Lord, thank You that You have given so much to us. Thank You for Your care and provision. Thank You that You have my life, my family, my world in Your hands.
