“How long, Lord, will you look on? Rescue me from their ravages, my precious life from these lions. I will give you thanks in the great assembly; among the throngs I will praise you. Do not let those gloat over me who are my enemies without cause; do not let those who hate me without reason maliciously wink the eye. They do not speak peaceably, but devise false accusations against those who live quietly in the land. They sneer at me and say, ‘Aha! Aha! With our own eyes we have seen it.’” Psalm 35:17-21
I heard someone question whether God answered prayer because he had been praying about something for a couple of weeks and hadn’t yet seen the answer he wanted.
We question God when the answer is not immediate?
Let’s back up and remember Who we are talking to. God knows the beginning and the end. I see what is in front of me. I cannot know all of the intricacies of my situation but He does. He knows that many times His answer to the prayer I pray is not the answer I’m looking for. His answer is that He has a better plan.
David is asking how long it will be. It is a question we ask. But God’s answer is that His answer will come at exactly the right time.
So how long? When the answer comes, you will know that it came at just the right time.
Jesus, I praise You that I can trust Your timing, no matter how long I wait. It is just the right time.
