“Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.” Psalm 25:4-5
Have you ever been confused about where you are?
One evening I drove to a fairly large mall. I parked my car and walked in. I shopped for a while but then exited the store. The problem was I walked out of a different door than the one I had walked into earlier so I was in a different parking area. I couldn’t find my car. Darkness was moving in. Everything looked different and there were no identifying markers to help me. I felt a moment of panic. Where was my car? How could I find it? How was I going to get home if I couldn’t find it?
But God always knows where I am. His wisdom overcame my panic. “Walk back in and find the door where you entered in the first place.” I did. When I then left I could see my car in the fading light. I breathed a sigh, God was guiding me.
Finding a car in dimming light is a very good thing, but trusting God with our lives, our decisions, our big moments and even our small ones takes an everyday commitment. If we realize that our hope is in Him all day long, we can breathe a sigh and know that He’s got us. We merely need to rest in His leading hands.
Heavenly Father, I give You my day, my small moments, and my big ones.
