Maybe, for some of us, it’s been a pretty tough season. Being inside the house so much when spring was in full bloom was challenging. Some experienced job loss, fear, worry over finances, and sickness, or concern about all of the items we’ve had to wear or purchase to combat the sickness. Sometimes there are things that we face that are tough. Disease is one of those.
All of this is a result of living in our sinful world. In God’s perfect garden there was no sickness, no social distancing, no sheltering in. Food was plentiful. There was no shortage, or fear of a shortage. But sin entered and today we experience the consequences. But oh, how sweet it is that God knows, He hears, and He guards. “Let those who love the Lord hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked. Light shineson the righteous and joy on the upright in heart. Rejoice in the Lord, you who are righteous, and praise his holy name.” Psalm 97:10-12
Today we can join the scribe of this psalm and rejoice as we praise His holy name for His light and joy are shining.
Heavenly Father, I rejoice in You. No matter how tough things get, I choose to live for You. Thank You for Your joy and light.
