Today I am making a declaration. I am joining the psalmist to say that I will forever sing praises to the God of Jacob. No matter what is happening in my life, no matter what difficulties, challenges, problems, or fears, God is forever good and deserving of my praise. If for the next fifty years I have only hard things in my path, God will still be good. How do I know that? Because He is good all the time. His goodness reached down from heaven in the form of a Baby who came to be my Savior. My future is set for eternity with Him and this life is merely a breath in comparison to that. So, for the rest of my days I will declare His praise. The psalmist knew it as well, “No one from the east or the west or from the desert can exalt themselves. It is God who judges: He brings one down, he exalts another. In the hand of the Lord is a cup full of foaming wine mixed with spices; he pours it out, and all the wicked of the earth drink it down to its very dregs. As for me, I will declare this forever; I will sing praise to the God of Jacob, who says, ‘I will cut off the horns of all the wicked, but the horns of the righteous will be lifted up.’”
Join me in praising Him.
Lord Jesus, how grateful I am that no matter what I face, this life is a moment in time compared to eternity. Yet I want to use my time here to praise You and glorify Your name. You are so good. Thank You.
