“Praise be to the Lord, for he showed me the wonders of his love when I was in a city under siege. In my alarm I said, ‘I am cut off from your sight!’ Yet you heard my cry for mercy when I called to you for help. Love the Lord, all his faithful people! The Lord preserves those who are true to him, but the proud he pays back in full. Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord.” Psalm 31:21-24
Have you ever felt all alone? Have you ever wondered where God was in the midst of trials or terrible circumstances?
When it feels like hard things are swirling around us, it’s sometimes difficult to sense God’s presence.
David felt it too. He was alarmed and afraid. he believed he was cut off from God’s sight.
In the very next moment trust welled up. David said, “Yet You heard my cry for mercy when I called to You for help.”
If we cannot see God, He is still there.
If we cannot hear God, He is still there.
If we cannot sense God, He is still there.
He sees us. He hears us. We are not out of His presence. We only need to trust.
Dear Lord, help me to always trust You. Sometimes things that are happening make me feel afraid and far from You. Help me to always know that no matter what is going on in my life, You are there and You hear me.
