“All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations will bow down before him, for dominion belongs to the Lord and he rules over the nations. All the rich of the earth will feast and worship; all who go down to the dust will kneel before him— those who cannot keep themselves alive. Posterity will serve him; future generations will be told about the Lord. They will proclaim his righteousness, declaring to a people yet unborn: He has done it!”
Much of this psalm was fulfilled at the cross, but there is still more to come. These verses speak to a time when all of the earth will worship and serve the Lord. That day is coming. There will be a time when God’s Kingdom will be established and generations will proclaim who He is and what He is doing. We are not there yet so in the time between, we have a job to do. That job was given by Jesus right before He ascended into heaven.
The Scripture records the message for us.
“He said to them: ‘It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.’” Acts 1:7-8
There it is. We are called to be His witnesses around the world. Let’s take the challenge. Go and tell!
Lord, help me to have the courage to go and tell.
