Ears that hear...what are we listening to?
Eyes that see...what is our vision? Are we looking to Jesus or the condition of the world? Are we reading the Word or just the latest headlines?
Lips that speak...what are we saying? Is the Gospel and the Word pouring out of us or is it fear, doubt, anger, hypocrisy?
Take an inventory. How are we doing?
“Ears that hear and eyes that see—the Lord has made them both. Do not love sleep or you will grow poor; stay awake and you will have food to spare. ‘It’s no good, it’s no good!’ says the buyer—then goes off and boasts about the purchase. Gold there is, and rubies in abundance, but lips that speak knowledge are a rare jewel.” Proverbs 20:12-15
Our eyes, our ears, our lips, God has given them to us. How are we using them?
Lord, open my eyes so I can see wonderful things in Your Word. Open my ears so I will listen to Your voice. Put a guard over my mouth to keep me from speaking the wrong thing, but open my mouth to give praise and testimony of You.
