David continues with his praise but also cries out for help. “Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth. Save us and help us with your right hand, that those you love may be delivered.” Psalm 108:5-6
When we are in trouble or find ourselves without clear direction, there is no better place to be than before the Lord. We can call on Him day or night. It doesn’t matter where we are, He hears. It doesn’t make any difference if we talk out loud or silently, He is listening. David had so many life-altering situations in his life. He was pursued, and his life was often threatened. He was a man of war, so he understood the battle, but he also understood that the victory for every battle began at the feet of the Lord. “Save us and help us with your right hand, that those you love may be delivered.” David praised and then asked. First praise, then petition. If we find ourselves in the middle of a battle, it is an outline of prayer that we can follow as well.
Lord, I praise You and thank You for all that You have done for me. You are exalted above the heavens, and Your glory is over all the earth. Now I humbly lay my requests before You.
